Todds. <-Pat's answer
Basically, after 4 months of still waiting for the paperwork to get through Pat got fed up. One of the bankruptcy courts "forgot" to file paperwork, then was yelling at the other one for contacting them about it. Then when Pat told them that he was done with it and walking away from the deal, they told him that everything had been ready but sitting on some guy's desk for a week or something. Pat was threatened with a lawsuit for walking away so he consulted a few lawyers and the consensus was that they wouldn't win against him since the paperwork both parties signed said it would close within 30 days, plus the fact that the sellers weren't allowed to sign the paperwork.
So yeah, now we're back to remodeling the Painesdale place. Pat is hoping to tear down the extra house and build a garage before October, since that's when he can't store his machine shop stuff anymore. It sucked moving all my crap out of the house after just moving it a month before. Currently we're renting a storage unit.
Any questions?

Name: Remington (we didn't name her)
Nickname: Remi
Age: 9 weeks?
Breed: German Shepherd/Retriever mix
Apparently she was taken away from her mom at 1 week old. Last week when we fostered her we were told she was at 8 weeks so she should be 9 weeks old now. We got her from the humane society. She should be getting spayed next week sometime.
So anyway, since I'm home all day I'm the one taking care of her and training her and whatnot. She loves to nip when she plays, so I'm trying to get her out of that habit but it's not working very well. She's a very friendly dog. I can't get her to go into the water yet, and she's not good with walks. She sometimes responds to the commands "sit" and "watch me." I tried to teach her to lay down but it hasn't worked yet. She doesn't like going into her kennel without a treat. She has tons of energy, and loves to chew on her brush so I'm working on getting her to stop. She also needs to learn how to tell us she needs to pee, and how to walk on a lease properly.
Currently she's napping.
So basically, since she was weaned way to early, I have to socialize her heavily. I'm trying to make doggie dates and whatnot, but I'm afraid she won't get enough of what she was supposed to learn. I'm also afraid she's not getting enough exercise because I'm trying to get things done around the house like laundry, dishes, vacuuming, etc. Since we've gotten her I've been watching her every moment because if I don't she has an accident in the house. This means that I haven't been able to do anything I need to do like chores and job applications. It's exhausting. And at night I get to take her out because Pat has to go to work. It's fair, but frustrating.
I've been reading a puppy training book, and also Cesar's Way by Cesar Millan. Reading this book has me terrified. Amica is one of the "problem dogs" and I don't want Remi to become Amica. This book tells you how not to do that. Unfortunately, I don't think I am capable of it. First off, I have to give her tons of exercise, and I just don't have the time for that when I have to get everything else done around the house (side note, I am now a "housewife" and am in charge of cleaning, etc). Secondly, I don't have the right attitude. I can't be calm-assertive. I don't know how, and I've tried but it doesn't work.
Last night I reached a breaking point. I don't know if I can do this. I don't think I can give her what she needs. I feel horrible every time I put her outside so I can get things done. I'm basically isolating her and not really giving her any attention or exercise. And this will turn her into an unsocialized, unhappy dog. :(
This is not the only thing I realized. This made me realize that I don't want to be a mom. I don't want to have kids and deal with the constant attention, etc, though it might be easier because at least I'll understand the needs of a child. The main thing though is that I don't want to change my lifestyle. I don't want to have to stop having sex whenever and whereever I feel like it. I don't want to have to stop walking around naked whenever I want. I'm starting to seriously consider getting a hysterectomy or tugal ligation, because of this and because of my irregular period and my thought that I'm probably infertile anyway. I'm not quite sure how Pat feels about this... I haven't actually talked to him about it.

I know it's been forever since I posted. Well, we didn't have internet for the longest time. I only had it at work. Now that we are NOT moving to Atlantic Mine, we looked into getting internet at home. It's nearly impossible to do my Mary Kay business and whatnot when I don't have internet. So Tuesday we finally got cable internet. We wanted DSL, but it's not in our area yet.
So anyway, I have lots of updates to do, which I will try to do in multiple posts.
Coming Soon...

I forgot, on Friday I spent the afternoon and evening with Jackie. We had dinner and drinks at the DT (who knew this licorice-hater would like Jager Bombs?) and then went to the Drag Show. It was a blast! I got a kiss by one of the Queens and even danced with one when I went up to give a dollar. All this in front of a few of my students. I rock. :-p
I am sort of living with P now. I have most of the everyday stuff there that I need, and I'm going to be going there every night. After work I plan on packing more of my apartment up. I'm bad at packing all at once (it drains me, and is the thing I hate most in the world) so I'm doing it bit by bit. Since we don't know how long we'll be in the Seeberville place, I've gotten myself a P.O. box until we finally get into the Atlantic Mine place.
New Address:
P.O. Box 615
Hancock, MI 49930
I can easily go there before or after work, which is why I picked one in Hancock.
In other news, yesterday we did Easter dinner at Steve's and that was pretty fun. I called my parents of course. We have a juicer, and surprisingly pure carrot juice is really sweet. And fresh apple juice is so much better than what you buy in the store. Most of the weekend I spent packing and moving stuff. Tomorrow break is over so it'll be back to the grind.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to cosmetics. For my lipstick I use exclusively Maybelline SuperStay as it indeeds stays on all day. It's amazing, and it doesn't rub off when you kiss your man. I'm still trying to find a good foundation, mascara, and eye color. My eye liner of choice is Rimmell (Eye Precision and Soft Kohl) as they go on smoothly. I've been really dissatisfied with all shadows I've tried lately because they never have enough pigment for me.
That all changed yesterday. I found some Too Faced makeup on sale, so I decided to try it out. It's beyond my normal price range, so without the sale I would have passed it by. I'm glad I didn't, because it's AMAZING. It has tons of pigment and goes on so smoothly! I'm in love!
Because I'm dorky, I took a picture of my eye using the new color I got. Unfortunately the lighting isn't quite right. In doing this I found I need to pluck my eyebrows and I missed some spots. Whoops.

So Pat got a call yesterday from his loan dude, telling him that his loan expires in a month and if the house doesn't close by then he has to pay $1500. The loan guy doesn't think that the house will close, as it's already been a month. Also, it turns out that the sellers who accepted his offer aren't actually authorized to do so, because of the fact they are filing bankruptcy.
Sooo...
Since I have a month left on my lease, and it's unlikely I'll get to move directly into the house, I have to move into Pat's Seeberville place, where there really isn't room for both of us. I'm quite upset about it, because I think it'll bring some extra stress. :-/
